Claro que no. El chiste del éxito del iPod es que maneje los formatos mas populares tanto para audio como para videos portatiles, y en el caso de este último el formato más popular es el MP4.

Es como si de repente sacaran un iPod con soporte para formato OGG ¿¿que usuario promedio sabe tan siquiera que ese formato de audio existe??

Incluso los DVD Players que son "compatibles" con divx tienen problemas reproduciendo divx "que supuestamente son encodeados con las opciones de compatibilidad"...


DIVX y XVID no son tan fijos como MPEG-2 (DVD) o en este caso, MPEG-4, que si es un estándar con un sets de reglas bastante bien definido (o en este caso, el codec h.264 que es cerrado... a lo mejor y puedes encodear usando el v264 que es el equivalente opensource... asi como xvid es a divx).


nota: antes de que me detonen.. si, yo se que tanto divx como xvid usan el estándar mpeg-4 xDDD pero los que encodean sabrán a que me refiero.
